Brood Inspection

Checked the Honey Bee Hives again for Queen Brood.

Used the Smoker to cause the bees to rush to eat their honey which keeps them occupied from bothering us!

Hive 1

- The entrance looked fine - no dead bees or abnormal behavior and appearance.

- We didn't see the queen but the hive seems to be functioning fine. Honey comb and honey are being produced

- There were some Queen cups in Frames 1 - 8. Allen scraped them out.

- There is still sugar water in this hive, but the level has not gone down much so it appears that the bees are getting pollen/food from other sources

Hive 2

- The entrance looked fine - no dead bees or abnormal behavior and appearance

- We didn't see the queen but the hive seems to be functioning fine. Honey comb and honey are being produced.

- There were no Queen cups found in either super.

Allen and I spoke about moving Hive 3 into the shed since it is not being used at this time.
